WORKSHOP ON IMPROVING TEACHER PROFESSIONALISM THROUGH ONLINE SCIENTIFIC WORK

The Wacana UNY Journal Team (WUNY) proudly hold the Online Workshop on Teacher Professionalism Improvement through online scientific work on 21 July 2020. The online workshop was moderated by Prof. Dr. Kasiyanto, M.Hum., Professor of Modern Art Studies at the Faculty of Language and Art of UNY.

The online workshop had “Freedom of Learning through scientific work learning” as the main topic. Prof. Kasiyanto stated that the workshop encouraged participants to create scientific work which UNY would facilitate online mentoring. Qualified works will be published at Jurnal Wacana UNY (WUNY).

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Margana, M.Hum., M.A. opening the workshop and stated that UNY had around 85 scientific journal from various field of studies. “From 85 scientific journal, we have Cakrawala Pendidikan which is indexed as international journal by SCOPUS. On national level, UNY has 54 journal on SINTA 2 category while the rest are indexed in SINTA 3, 4, 5, and 6. Those journals can be used as means to share our knowledge,” Margana said. He also mentioned that publication of scientific paper is not only about increasing credit scores for  someone career’s, but also related with the effort to educate both student at school and society at a bigger picture.

The presentation was set into two sessions. The first session had three panelists namely Drs. R. Kadarmanta Baskara Aji, M.M. (Previously Head of the Education, Youth and Sports Office of the Yogyakarta Province); Eko Budi Susanto, M.Sc. (LPMP DIY); and Drs. Thomas Dwi Heru Santoso, M.Pd. (Junior High School Supervisor of Sleman Education Office).  For the second session, workshop participants had The Wacana UNY Journal Team (WUNY) as the panelist. Prof. Dr. Suwarna Dwijonagoro, M.Pd. and Dr. Sumaryadi, M.Pd. shared their expertise related with scientific journal. (Tj. Lak)
