Holistic organic waste management by utilizing Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae as decomposing agents

The community service team of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNY seeks to encourage sustainable organic waste management. One of the efforts comes through counseling activities on the utilization of Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae as part of organic waste management and strengthening food security in Dukuh Serut, Kulon Progo district. in the activity held on May 1, 2024, there were 25 participants from the Women Farmers Group (KWT) Dukuh Serut.

Processing waste cooking oil into aromatherapy candles

Residents of Pinggir Village, Bantul Regency, received training on processing waste cooking oil into aromatherapy candles from a group of UNY students. The group consists of Muhammad Raffi Argifari, Sony Ardiansyah Yekti Wibowo, Media Binar Yedeya, Ja'far Yanuar Sugrindo As Salafi, Syifa Kamila Khairunnisa, Rhiski Husniati, Najla Nashirah, Rahma Chairunissa, Restu Maisaroh and Ratih Kumalasari Sujono.

Increasing the Impact of the UNY Student Community Service Program

Pandansari Beach, located in Gadingsari, Bantul, can become an international beach tourism destination. However, the management of this beach is not optimal, and this beach is relatively less well known compared to other beaches in Bantul. Pandansari Beach has an iconic lighthouse, camping ground facilities, and dragon fruit garden agrotourism.
