Two UNY Students Named Finalists in 2026 National Outstanding Student Awards (Pilmapres)

Two Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) students, Nosi Anggana and Kuswantoro, were named finalists in the 2026 National Outstanding Student Awards (Pilmapres), held at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN), Tangerang, Banten, from August 4 to 8, 2026. The two represented UNY in different categories.

Maestro-Evo UNY Demonstrates National Robotics Capacity, Wins Runner-Up and Best Strategy at KRAI 2026

The Maestro-Evo Robotics Team of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has once again demonstrated its standing as one of Indonesia’s leading student robotics teams. At the 2026 National ABU Indonesia Robot Contest (KRAI), held at the University of Jember from July 9 to 12, 2026, the team secured second place nationally and won the Best Strategy award, in recognition of the best strategy applied throughout the competition.

Eco-Friendly Nano Potato Innovation in Water Purification

A proud moment unfolded for Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) as the NanoBotato team from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) clinched the top award at the 14th UNY Science and Engineering Fair (UNYSEF) in 2025. Their groundbreaking project explored the use of potato-derived nanomaterials, demonstrating how simple local resources can be transformed into cutting-edge technological solutions with promising applications in water purification and sustainable agriculture.

UNY Students Excel at Abdidaya Ormawa 2024

At the prestigious Abdidaya Ormawa 2024, held at Universitas Udayana, Bali, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) showcased remarkable achievements. Represented by two teams, Haska JMF and BEM FMIPA UNY, they reached the finals, competing against 160 student organizations from 66 universities across Indonesia.

Organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Abdidaya Ormawa recognizes student organizations that excel in community service programs driven by innovation and social impact.

Mega Setya Handayani Graduates with Honors, Achieving a 3.95 GPA

Mega Setya Handayani, a student from the Elementary School Teacher Education program at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), graduated with honor, earning the highest undergraduate GPA of 3.95 in the November 2024 graduation period.

Mega initially faced setbacks in securing admission through the SNMPTN and SBMPTN pathways. However, her achievements in poetry reading, public speaking, and marching competitions at both regional and national levels paved the way for her acceptance into UNY through the talent scouting selection process.

UNY Holds November Graduation Ceremony, Preparing Graduates for Global Competition

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) held its second graduation ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic year on Saturday, November 30, at the UNY Sports Hall. The event celebrated 1,681 graduates across various programs: 47 doctoral, 319 master's, 1,119 bachelor's, and 196 applied bachelor's degrees. Graduates were from nine faculties, with the largest number from the Faculty of Education and Psychology (342) and the smallest from the Graduate School (37).

UNY Student Honored by Sleman Police for Sign Language Interpretation Dedication

Khairil Mursyidin, a student in the Special Education program at the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) UNY, received an award from the Sleman Police Department for his contributions as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI). The award was presented by the Sleman Police Chief during a formal ceremony, acknowledging Khairil’s dedication to assisting police communications during press conferences for people with disabilities.

UNY's Student Activity Units Receive Abdidaya Ormawa 2024 Awards

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) has once again demonstrated its national standing by securing two prestigious Abdidaya Ormawa 2024 awards, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. The awards ceremony took place at Udayana University in Bali from Thursday to Saturday (November 7–9).

Garuda UNY Eco Team wins 2nd place at Shell Eco-marathon Asia-Pacific and Middle East 2024

Garuda UNY Eco Team won second place at the Shell Eco-marathon Asia-Pacific and Middle East 2024 held at Mandalika International Circuit, Indonesia in the Urban Gasoline category. This achievement adds to the Garuda UNY Eco Team's series of achievements in vehicle energy efficiency competitions at the international level.
