On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, the Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Semarang (SPs UNNES) visited the Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (SPs UNY). The group from SPs UNNES was led by the Coordinator of the Study Program, Prof. Dr. Sarwi, M.Si., who was accompanied by eight students of the Master of Economics and Development Education program. Meanwhile, SPs UNY as the host was represented by Prof. Dr. Siswantoyo, M.Kes., AIFO, Director of SPs UNY, along with other leaders.
The visit began with a passionate speech from Prof. Dr. Siswantoyo, who carried the motto “Jaya Mendunia.” In his speech, he emphasized the importance of synergy between universities in creating graduates who are competent and ready to face global competition. He also highlighted the importance of continuous collaboration between educational institutions to encourage quality improvement in education, research, and human resource development.
Prof. Dr. Sarwi in his speech expressed his deep gratitude for the friendly welcome from SPs UNY. He hoped that this visit would be the first step to strengthen the cooperation between SPs UNNES and SPs UNY, especially in the field of research and academic development.
After the speech, an interactive discussion session was held between SPs UNNES students and SPs UNY leaders. Various interesting topics were discussed, including innovations in curriculum development, collaborative research opportunities, and further study plans for students. The event culminated with the signing of the Implementation of Arrangement (IA) between SPs UNNES and SPs UNY, which underscores the commitment of both institutions to implement cooperation in education, research, and human resource development.
This collaboration is expected to have a positive impact on both institutions, both for the development of students and lecturers, as well as for improving the quality of the academic world in Indonesia. With this collaboration, SPs UNNES and SPs UNY are committed to continue to synergize in creating quality graduates who have global competitiveness, in line with the demands of an increasingly dynamic modern era.
