To Introduce Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) activity, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta held an achievement exhibition in which there was a display of Student Activity Units (UKM). This achievement exhibition was held at GOR UNY on Wednesday (07/08/2024) and was attended by 42 UKM in the fields of reasoning, sports, arts, and welfare / specialty. This achievement exhibition aims to introduce UNY student organization activities, profiles, latest achievements, and new member registration procedures that are attractively packaged.
Student Activity Units that appeared included BEM KM, DPM, Research UKM, LPM Ekspresi, Radio Magenta, SAFEL, Technology Engineering, Kamasetra, Theater "Unstrat", Student Choir "Swara Wadhana", and many more. "We accommodate new students who have talents and interests in the field of vocal sports. Not only art students, students of any major can join this UKM as long as they have the intention and want to express themselves freely," said Angela as the manager of Swara Wadhana Student Choir. Previously, Swara Wardhana has achieved various achievements up to the international level.
Unit Studi Sastra dan Teater (Unstrat) as one of the UKM in the field of arts also displayed its profile. This UKM seeks to introduce itself through an open poetry stage for new students. This is in accordance with the variety of activities in Unstrat. "Unstrat is not only theater, but in it there is cinematography, literature, artistic team, and there is a production department" explained Asep as a member of Unstrat UNY.
In the field of reasoning, there is an UKM Engineering Technology which is a forum for the creation and development of engineering technology and developing technology-based businesses. "This UKM is divided into five divisions, namely the robotics, car, design, information technology, and appropriate division. Students can choose the division that suits their interests," said Sultan.
One of the divisions in the engineering technology UKM is Garuda UNY which is engaged in car engineering. Garuda UNY team has previously qualified for the 2023 Drivers' World Championship in Banglore, India after successfully becoming runner-up in the Shell Eco-Marathon Regional Championship. This year the Garuda UNY team made UNY proud again by winning second place at the Shell Eco-marathon Asia-Pacific and Middle East 2024 held at the Mandalika International Circuit.
One of UNY's new students Khafiza Mutiara from the psychology study program said she wanted to join the Unstrat UKM. "I want to join Unstrat and channel my hobby there," said the student of the Faculty of Education and Psychology.
