Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) held a Reception Ceremony for Faculty and Staff Graduates of Advanced Studies on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. The event, conducted in the Theater Room, 4th Floor of the Digital Library, was attended by 236 graduates from various academic levels.
Among the attendees, 102 faculty members successfully completed their doctoral programs (S3), while the staff (tendik) graduates included 3 doctoral (S3) graduates, 71 master's (S2) graduates, 36 bachelor's (S1) graduates, and 24 applied bachelor's graduates. This marks a significant milestone in UNY's effort to enhance its human resource quality through advanced education programs.
In his address, Prof. Sumaryanto, M.Kes., AIFO, Rector of UNY, emphasized the alignment of this initiative with the university's long-standing commitment to education. Quoting the slogan "Education is an investment in civilization" introduced by Prof. Suyanto, Ph.D., current Chair of the Board of Trustees (MWA), he highlighted education’s pivotal role as the cornerstone of national progress and global advancement.
The ceremony also served as a form of acknowledgment and appreciation for the returning graduates. Prof. Sumaryanto expressed hope that the knowledge and expertise gained during their studies would contribute significantly to the development of UNY and the broader educational landscape in Indonesia.
