Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) officially graduated 22 students from its Professional Engineer Program (PSPPI) on Friday, April 25, 2025. The event, held at the Directorate of Professional Education and Competency (DPPK) building, was attended by university leaders, faculty, and proud family members. It marked not just the end of a journey, but the beginning of new professional contributions to Indonesia’s growing need for skilled engineers.
In his heartfelt speech, UNY Rector Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto highlighted the noble role of the engineering profession. "Professions such as engineers, doctors, and educators hold a special place in building society," he emphasized. Prof. Sumaryanto also shared exciting news about the construction of a new five-story DPPK building near the Faculty of Language, Arts, and Culture, encouraging the newly inaugurated engineers to play an active role in future campus developments.
Throughout their studies, the students underwent rigorous training guided by experienced lecturers and industry practitioners, ensuring they were equipped not only with technical know-how but also with strong managerial and ethical standards. The Professional Engineer Program at UNY has been recognized for its excellence in producing graduates who are ready to meet real-world challenges with innovation and integrity.
