THE RECTOR CANDIDATES OF YSU PRESENTED THEIR WORKPLANS

Three moral messages full of meaning are posted at the main gate of YSU namely 'Education Investment of Future', 'Piety-Autonomy-Intellectuality' and Cipta-Rasa-Karsa 'are the trust that must be maintained and continued, whoever the leaders and academicians of YSU will be, because there will always be perennial guidelines for responding to changes in internal institutional and external transformations such as globalization. This is important to realize the strategic programs so that YSU is always moving dynamically that brings the reputation and distinctive contribution at national and international levels. Thus as explained by Prof. Dr. Djoko Pekik Irianto, M.Kes during the Senate Open Meeting of Yogyakarta State University in the Main Courtroom, the Rector Office YSU (15/12).

The Senate Open Meeting was held in connection with the delivery of the vision, mission and work program of the YSU rector candidate’s period of 2017 - 2021. Furthermore, Mr. Djoko as a lecturer at the Faculty of Sport Sciences, said that the challenges of the future are more severe and complex, thus we need competent human resources and global insight, who have a hard and soft skills which is based on the mutual recognition agreement. "In accordance with the vision of YSU 2025, I designed seven major program called Sapta Karya" said Prof. Dr. Djoko Pekik Irianto, M. Kes. These programs are capacity building, empowerment and appreciation of human resources, academic infrastructure development, management and optimization of unit / agency, partnership, improvement of the quality of education teaching and research, and to cultivate character as well as development of student affairs and alumni.

The event was attended by the Rector of YSU, Prof. Dr. Rochmat Wahab, M.Pd., M.A, the Vice-rectors, deans, vice deans, department chairman and coordinator of the study program as well as the students by featuring three candidates, namely Prof. Dr. Djoko Pekik Irianto, M. Kes from the Faculty of Sport Science, Dr. Haryanto, M.Pd of the Faculty of Education and Prof. Dr. Sutrisna Wibawa, M.Pd of the Faculty of Languages and Arts.

Dr. Haryanto, M.Pd in ​​his presentation emphasized that he will raise the ratio of lecturers with doctoral degree while improving the ranking of the university such as Webometric, 4 International Colleges and Universities, The Directorate of Higher Education and so on. "The increase in certified and internationally accredited study program also we have planned" said Dr. Haryanto, M.Pd "Including to shorten the period of study and improve the GPA". The strategy implementation is making good university governance, regional cooperation is focused on the Asia Pacific and Middle East, the repositioning of science education includes educational praxis and synergy with the government.

Meanwhile Prof. Dr. Sutrisna Wibawa, M.Pd said that towards World Class University (WCU), YSU has had some advantages at local, national, regional and international. "WCU are universities that develop the Three Pillars of Higher Education which its scope consists of local knowledge, needs and identity of Indonesia, and the regional and international competitiveness that has been proportionally balanced" said Prof. Dr. Sutrisna Wibawa, M.Pd. The grand design development of YSU is towards WCU according to Professor of FLA YSU, starts from 2017 with an “A” accreditation for the institutions and both local and international cooperation. Furthermore, In the year of 2018, the university will be put towards PTN-BH (Corporate University), and in 2019 is targeted to get in 500 universities of QS-East Asia, 2020 to become PTN-BH and in 2021 to became a world-class university education.
