Three students from the Sociology Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) won first place in the National Paper Competition at Carvenos x APPSANTI 2026, held at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Sebelas Maret, Surakarta, recently.

The UNY team consisted of Rajif Muzamil Rohman as team leader, along with Lula Nurfadilah and Tias Isnawati. For the competition, the team examined adolescent social resilience in a risk society through the perspective of German sociologist Ulrich Beck.

Based on their analysis, the team developed an innovation called Berdikari Guide, a personalized-roadmap-based platform designed to help adolescents identify their potential, develop personal growth plans, and navigate various challenges amid social change.

Rajif Muzamil Rohman explained that the topic was selected in response to the various challenges facing adolescents today, including social change, technological development, and economic dynamics. Through Berdikari Guide, the team proposed an innovative solution that can serve as a companion in adolescents’ personal development.

The national paper competition carried the theme “Navigating Social Change Through Innovation and Humanity.” Before reaching the final round, participants underwent a manuscript selection process and subsequently presented their academic works before a panel of judges.

This achievement adds to the national-level accomplishments of students in UNY’s Sociology Education Study Program and demonstrates their contribution to developing innovative ideas through academic research.
