The Faculty of Language, Arts, and Culture (FBSB) at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) successfully hosted BIPA Camp 2025 on May 30–31 under the theme “Synergy with Nature in BIPA Achievement.” This annual event brought together 45 participants from local and international institutions, including students from Yunnan Minzu University, BLCU, GDUFS, and Sanata Dharma University, aiming to enrich the experience of learning and teaching Bahasa Indonesia for foreign speakers (BIPA).
On the first day, held at the Cine Club Room of FBSB UNY, participants joined workshops on BIPA teaching practices and creative cultural crafts. These sessions fostered collaborative learning and cultural exchange among BIPA learners, local students, and guest participants. The second day took place in Kaki Langit Tourism Village, where outdoor activities connected participants with local traditions, nature, and daily village life.
Dr. Ari Kusmiatun, Head of the BIPA Lab at UNY, highlighted the value of the program: “This is an effective approach for BIPA learners to immerse in real social settings while practicing the language. It also offers a space for instructors to reconnect and share experiences, which will later be compiled into a collaborative book.”
BIPA Camp 2025 served as both a learning platform and cultural bridge, offering practical and immersive experiences that strengthened linguistic skills and intercultural understanding for all involved.
