Two students from Faculty of Language and Arts (FBS), Nadhila Hibatul Nastika Putri and Muhammad Fajar Riyadi (also known as Uye), published an antology of short story book by title Cerita Maya & Mira. The book is published by Quark on February 2019.
Both Nadhila and Uye believed that it is important to published their work in a book. “Publishing a book is really important, because we will have the other work besides the thesis book on our academic life as a college student,” said Uye.
“On February 2020 I will published a new work, it is novela (a short novel). So, the span of time between Cerita Maya & Mira with the next short novel is exactly one year,” said Fajar Riyadi.
Uye said that before he published Cerita Maya and Mira, he ever published a book with title Alinea Baru, but for Nadhila Cerita Maya & Mira is his first book. Nadhilla is against the assumption that the first book of a beginner writer is not worth to read.
Most of Uye’s short story use a lot of female’s point of view. Uye also raised issues related to religious themes, like pesantren. Because he also grown up from pesantren environment. Whereas Nadhilla used a lot of male’s point of view on her book. The theme raised by Nadhilla in her short story is the issue about social and environment.
When Nadhilla was interviewed, she said that they don’t plan to use such point of view that will raised in their own story. She said that it was accidentally. (Nursaid/JK, Tj farrastania)
