"Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka (PPM) program is a collaboration of all universities throughout Indonesia that aims to enrich cultural treasures. The specialty of this program is that selected students can choose the university and study program they want. Hopefully, this program can provide valuable experience and support improving the quality of education in Indonesia," said Prof. Cerika Rismayanthi at the graduation of the "Independent Student Exchange" Program batch 3 at UNY on December 22, 2023.

"The PPM program provides an opportunity for all of us to learn about different customs and cultures within the framework of Unity in Diversity. Hopefully, UNY will always be the first choice for this program," said Prof. Guntur, Secretary Director of the Directorate of Academic, Student Affairs and Alumni, representing the Rector of UNY.

This student exchange activity was carried out in the odd semester from August to December 2023 and was attended by 96 students from 35 universities throughout Indonesia. The students conducted lectures in 23 study programs at UNY. The students occupy the Wedomartani dormitory with daily drop-off and pick-up facilities using UNY buses. They must participate in various activities such as exploration of diversity held by the recipient university and social contribution where students carry out community service activities.

"I am happy to be one of the student exchange participants at UNY because the campus environment is nice and aesthetic. UNY has excellent facilities to support the learning process here," said Della Mamonto from Sam Ratulangi University. Meanwhile, Winia Meysahrani from Mataram University, Lombok, said that she likes living in the UNY Wedomartani dormitory, and it is memorable because this dormitory provides complete and comfortable facilities for students.
