The team of UNY students from the Sociology Education Study Program introduced a herbal drink called Inter Rasa (Infuse Water, Spices, Fruits, and Vegetables). The team consists of Irfan Hermawan, Mustika Natalia, Ayomi Kusumaningrum, Mirda Yanti, and Anisa Nurul Chusna. They believed that the drink they created could maintain the body's metabolism and increase the body's immunity.
Irfan Hermawan explained that they made Inter Rasa with natural fruits, vegetables, and spices. "Spices have an important role in boosting the immune system," he said. Irfan said plants that boost immunity include temu lawak (Curcuma zanthorrhiza), turmeric (Curcuma longa), and ginger (Zingiber officinale). Turmeric (Curcuma longa) increases immunity while functioning as an antioxidant and antimicrobial. Ginger (Zingiber officinale) works as an immune booster, and Temu lawak (Curcuma zanthorrhiza) is beneficial in maintaining liver health. Consuming these plants in the form of herbs can prevent the transmission of various microbes, including viruses and bacteria.
Mustika Natalia explained that this product has a distinctive taste with a refreshing aroma, a combination of fruit, vegetables, and spices produced in the form of an infusion water type drink topped with various fresh fruit mashed together with a chewy and delicious jelly. "It also contains vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, and vitamin B6," said Mustika. This innovation won a silver medal in the International Youth Business Competition (IYBC), in which Malaysia, India, Vietnam, Mexico, the Philippines, and Iran teams participated at the end of last November.
