A student team from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), consisting of Pangesti Dwi Nugraheni (Biology Education), Pradika Larasati (Mathematics), Fauziatul Adhimah (Chemistry), and Sifa’ul Janah (Biology Education), has established SciFlow Event Organizer. According to Pangesti Dwi Nugraheni, SciFlow operates in the fields of services, tourism, and trade, emphasizing science-based outbound activities. “The initiative began with the idea of increasing visits to the Kampung Wisata Air Titik 0 Km in Central Java by integrating science into outdoor adventures,” she stated on Monday (12/23). The concept introduces a unique learning experience through simple scientific experiments conducted in outdoor settings.
Pradika Larasati highlighted that SciFlow’s strength lies in its ability to combine engaging adventure experiences with deeper scientific understanding, contributing positively to education while delivering professional and high-quality services. “The concept of outbound activities with tourism communities integrates tourism elements with relevant outbound partners to create valuable and unique experiences for participants,” she explained. For instance, environmental awareness programs can merge tourism activities with conservation efforts, allowing participants to engage in beach clean-ups, tree planting, or wildlife habitat preservation while learning about local community conservation initiatives.
Since its inception, SciFlow has successfully organized six science-based outbound events, attracting 277 participants from various educational levels, ranging from kindergarten to junior high school. Fauziatul Adhimah emphasized that these activities have reached diverse audiences in Magelang, Sleman, and surrounding areas. Events are specifically designed to cater to participants' educational levels, offering environmental exploration games for young children and science experiment simulations for older students. The success of these programs reflects the community's enthusiasm for educational outbound concepts. Through its innovative and interactive approach, SciFlow has established itself as a pioneer in science-based outbound services, building a strong reputation for delivering meaningful and enjoyable learning experiences.
SciFlow’s achievements include qualifying for the Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expo held at Halu Oleo University, Kendari. Sifa’ul Janah noted that the KMI Expo, which brings together student entrepreneurs from across Indonesia, provided SciFlow with a platform to showcase its initiatives. All participants at this stage had secured funding from the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs under the Program Pembinaan Mahasiswa Wirausaha (P2MW). The 15th KMI Expo hosted 287 universities, over 3,000 students, and 600 faculty advisors, featuring approximately 627 products.
Sifa’ul Janah expressed hope that more students would be inspired to pursue entrepreneurship and innovate across various fields in the coming years. “We hope this motivates more students to engage in entrepreneurship and develop their ventures, contributing to Indonesia's efforts to strengthen quality economic growth through entrepreneurship,” she concluded.
