Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) welcomed assessors from the Independent Accreditation Institution for Education (LAMDIK) for a field assessment of its Civil Engineering and Planning Education undergraduate program on May 6, 2025. The visit was led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Asep Yudi Permana, M.Des. and Dr. Sri Handayani, M.Pd., who were warmly received by UNY’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Nur Hidayanto Pancoro Setyo Putro, Ph.D., along with leaders and lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Nur Hidayanto expressed appreciation for the assessors’ presence and highlighted the program’s strong track record. “We previously received an 'Excellent' accreditation, and continue to graduate students with impressive academic achievements,” he said. The program recently celebrated the graduation of 75 students with an average GPA of 3.56, and most completed their studies in just four and a half years—an encouraging indicator of academic success.

Throughout the assessment, the LAMDIK team reviewed key elements of the program including curriculum quality, teaching resources, facilities, and graduate outcomes. Their visit wasn’t just about ticking boxes—it was about meaningful dialogue and reflection. “We are not only showcasing our strengths, but also identifying areas for future growth,” said the program coordinator.

The visit also brought together a strong support system from UNY’s leadership, including the Director of Quality Assurance, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and the program’s dedicated task force. Their collaborative spirit underscored a shared commitment to providing high-quality education that equips students for real-world engineering challenges.

By undergoing this accreditation process, UNY reaffirms its dedication to continuous improvement. The insights gathered from the assessors will serve as a valuable guide for refining the Civil Engineering and Planning Education Program, helping ensure that graduates are not only academically accomplished but also ready to contribute meaningfully to society.
