The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the quality of physical health and the quality of mental health. The policy of learning from home does not necessarily have a positive impact. Children who typically study and play with their friends directly should study and stay at home. This situation triggered the emergence of boredom and stress in children.

UNY Sociology Education Study Program students who are members of the mental health group have the opportunity to carry out activities to help children ease their mental burden during the Covid-19 pandemic in Tulungan Hamlet, Mulyodadi, Bambanglipuro, Bantul. The project focused on students currently studying from kindergarten to grade 3 junior high school.

The mental health group targets children and adolescents because they need psychological assistance more than adults who can better process their psychological condition due to the changes experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic. The implementation of activities began with a sharing session with alumni from Psychology Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). This session gave children an opportunity for trauma healing in a fun and exciting experience through various mini-games. The team also shared vital information to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 and ways to overcome boredom because they must stay at home.
