SUPPORTING ENVIROMENTAL FRIENDLY ENTREPENEURSHIP TRHOUGH ECOPRINT TRAINING AT DUNGKASI

UNY Students who is participated in community service program at Dungkasi Hamlet, Gunungkidul held ecoprint training. UNY Students who run the training are organized in K030 team.  In this program, 27 people participated. The training is conducted based on the students’ observation on the lack of leaves as raw material for worth to sale products. There are two invited trainer, Nugroho Aji Wibowo and Wulan Agustina. Both of them are UNY students majoring in crafts education department.

In the training, people from Dungkasi learn the potential application of leaf as scarves, veils, totte bags, outer, t-shirts, and tablecloths. There are two techniques in making this ecoprint, which are steamed and hit. Bhirama Noraga A as the leader of K030 said, "This event is very beneficial for the people of Dungkasi Hamlet, because it can be used as a means to increase creativity and ability in entrepreneurship."

Mrs. Atun, one of the participants as well as PKK member, thinks that this event was very helpful for residents, especially in utilizing natural resources in the form of leaves that are not widely known by the public at large. According to her, this event is very good because it helps people to think creatively in taking advantage of opportunities that exist. The wife of Dungkasi Hamlet  Head highlight the training for providing new knowledge especially in overcoming existing economic problems. "This counseling provides new knowledge for people of Dungkasi to be sensitive in overcoming an economic problem with entrepreneurship," she concluded. (Marsa Fajarwati)
