The Office of International Affairs and Partnership of Yogyakarta State University (YSU) together with University of Leeds held information session of study in Leeds which took place at Abdullah Sigit Meeting Room, Faculty of Education (28/7). Representatives of Leeds who attended this event were: Premila Kanaphaty from International Office of Leeds, Dr. Mary Chambers as the Director of Student Education and Associate, Laura Pearson from Maths and Physical Science School and Bonnie Susilo from Branch Coordinator SUN Education Yogyakarta.
Dr. Chambers gave explanation on the post-graduate programs at Leeds such as TESOL and Childhood Studies. Candidates are required to have IELTS certificate with the score band of 6.5 for the regular program and 7.0 for TESOL.
According to Dr. Chambers, there are many activities that students can join, some of them are outdoor activities to Yorkshire Dale, dance, music and also theater. “We also have Harry Potter and Pokemon communities at Leeds!” she exclaimed.
Laura Pearson spoke that the career opportunities at Leeds are also wide open. We also recommend the international students to participate in the public activities and look for part-time job, because we have many job vacancies at Leeds.
“We also offer doctoral program for Doctor of Education or Ed.D. This program is a 3 years full-time program.”she said. (andre)
