In order to prevent the transmission of the Covid-19 virus, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, in collaboration with the Sleman Health Service, carried out a booster vaccination for lecturers and education staff on Sunday, 30 January 2022. "This vaccination aims to achieve herd immunity because Covid cases have not disappeared at all. There is even a trend the case went up because there was a new variant of Omicron. Therefore, to help increase antibodies, we need a third booster vaccination,” said dr. Siti Hardiyanti from Depok III Health Center, Sleman.
In this vaccination, Depok III Health Center brought 167 bottles of vaccine, enough for more than 2000 people. The activity was opened by the Vice-Rector for General Affairs and Finance Prof. Edi Purwanta, who thanked the Sleman Health Office for providing facilities to carry out vaccinations at UNY. Hopefully, this activity can run smoothly and avoid the Covid outbreak with maximum effort.
Secretary for the vaccination program, Joko Purwoko, MM, said that UNY invited 2000 UNY lecturers and education staff for this activity. He said that the partner appointed by UNY to carry out vaccinations was the Sleman Health Service, in this case, the Depok III Health Center. The health center has already completed some vaccination programs for various institutions and has all-in services, including registration, physical and blood pressure checks, screening, vaccination desks, follow-up tables after vaccination, and waste treatment. The vaccine used in this activity is Pfizer.
