Bangkok, Thailand – Students from the Graduate School (SPs) of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) have once again demonstrated their academic excellence on the international stage by earning prestigious awards at The 5th International Conference on Educational System Management Leadership (ICESML) 2026, held at the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, from 29–30 May 2026.
The conference brought together academics, researchers, and graduate students from various countries, providing an international platform for presenting innovative educational research. During the event, UNY Graduate School students received awards in both the Best Oral Presentation and Best Poster Presentation categories.
The Best Oral Presentation Award was presented to Khofifah Alawiyah, a doctoral student in the Doctoral Program in Vocational and Technological Education (PTK), and Irwan, a master's student in the Master's Program in Educational Research and Evaluation (PEP). Their research examined the influence of entrepreneurship education, emotional intelligence, and parental managerial support on vocational high school students' entrepreneurial intentions.
Through their study, the researchers sought to contribute to the development of entrepreneurship education that is responsive to the needs of today's young generation and the evolving demands of the labor market. Their presentation received high praise from the conference judges for its strong research foundation, practical relevance, and effective delivery.
Another outstanding achievement came from Nurul Arsyi, a master's student in the Educational Research and Evaluation (PEP) program, who received the Best Poster Presentation Award. Her research explored the application of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in educational assessment and its implications for the advancement of STEM education.
The topic was recognized for its strong relevance to current developments in educational technology, particularly in supporting more adaptive, technology-driven assessment practices. Through her research, Nurul demonstrated how advances in generative AI can enhance the quality and effectiveness of learning evaluation.
The awards were determined through a rigorous evaluation process conducted by academics and professors participating in the conference. Assessment criteria included research quality, scientific contribution, originality of the topic, and participants' ability to communicate their findings effectively to an international audience.
These achievements reflect the strong academic capabilities and research excellence of UNY Graduate School students, demonstrating their ability to compete successfully on the global stage. The accomplishments also highlight the Graduate School's commitment to fostering a strong culture of research, scholarly publication, and active participation in international academic forums.
UNY hopes that these accomplishments will inspire more Graduate School students to pursue high-quality research and engage in international scientific conferences, thereby expanding their academic perspectives while strengthening Indonesia's contribution to the global academic community.
