Physics education students consisting of Reno Nurdiyanto, Effendi Malik and Febriani whose team name is "Rebahan" under the guidance of Dr. Pujianto, M. Pd. created a Virtual Electromagnetic Wave Lab Application as a solution of the remote learning (PJJ) in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. This application is designed to establish active learning and independent learning of physics subject about electromagnetic wave topic.
Febriani explained that since the beginning, physics subjects are often considered difficult by the students. This is because physics seems abstract and often deals with formulas, especially with the current remote learning which causes students tossing around in their bed and increase the laziness while having a teaching and learning activity. This led the “Rebahan” team to include this work in the LKTIN Loyalism event organized by the Telkom Institute of Technology Surabaya.
Effendi Malik said that the event theme was based on the current situation ,and "ICT Innovation for the Development of New Education in the New Normal Era for the Success of the Independent Learning-Independent Campus Program" chosen as the topic of the theme.
"This event was attended by 254 participants and passed several selections which consist the selection of abstract, full paper, poster and the final selection which chose 10 best participants from various universities in Indonesia which was held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 through an online zoom meeting". Said Effendi
In addition, Reno Nurdiyanto admitted that he was grateful to become the first winner together with his team at the event. He hoped that this application will not only stop at the competition alone but can also be applied to help to improve the students' enthusiasm and make them study properly without laying on their bed while learning physics.
