The vision of Yogyakarta State University (YSU) towards World Class Educational University can be realized with the support of internalization of all academic circle, including the students. In order to realize such support, in this year of 2016, YSU sends 8 of their students to join the international forum of Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) International Camps in Thailand from 19 until 25 June 2016.

Garuda UNY Racing Team (GURT) has just launched its racing car, the Formula Garuda 16 (FG-16) at Wisma Djoglo Sleman(15/8). FG16 is an improvement from the previous iteration, the F-15. FG-16 is scheduled to race on 6-10 September 2016 in the Student Formula Japan in Shizuoka Japan. This event will be the meeting ground for the universities team all around the world. Student Formula Japan is one of the 10 series of the Student Formula from all continents in the world under the Society Automotive Engineering (SAE). This event will put the design capabilities from all teams to the test.

It has been almost a year since the arrival of the Darmasiswa students in Yogyakarta State University (YSU). During the one-year time, the students, consisting of 18 persons, have learned the Indonesian language and culture. After adequately mastering the material, they are allowed to return to their home countries. The students come from various countries in Asia, such as Thailand, Japan, and Korea, and some from Europe and America continents, such as Poland, Mexico, United States, and Ukraine.

In Sambeng II, Poncosari village, Srandakan, Bantul, Yogyakarta, there are 52 people working as cattle raisers. Each group has at least 2 – 3 cows, while one cow produces 23,59 kg dung / day. The dung is usually piled up into dung middens at the back of the cowshed, yet commonly never used in an optimal way.

Just like the previous years, Yogyakarta State University continues to send its students in their 6^th semester for joining international field practice in Malaysia. LPPMP (Institute of Educational Development and Quality Assurance) is responsible for the program along with the Office of International Affairs and Partnership (OIAP) to hold the selection of the student candidate.

Yogyakarta State University’s students who are the members of the Student Activity Unit in Research YSu landed the first runner-up at the National Scientific Essay Contest National Economic Events (NETS) 2016 organized by the Student Association of Economic Development, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto. The team, led by student from the Psychology study program, Astri Anggraeni and consists of Ahmad Muzaki Salman Alfaris (from Information Engineering Education) and Aji Budi Rinekso (from English Education).

The students Faculty of Mathematics and Science (FMS) YSU succeeded in harnessing the starch of dioscorea tuber to create an environment-friendly bioplastic. Through their research entitled The Synthesis and Characterization of Environment-Friendly Bio-plastic based on Yogyakarta’s local dioscorea, Dita Ardwiyanti along with her team from Natural Science Education Department belonging to the Student’s Research Creativity Program (PKMP) managed to make bio-plastic materials that have not been widely used.

Saturday (4/6/2016), 15 international students of Yogyakarta State University (YSU) attended Mitoni ceremony, that is a traditional Javanese ceremony held to celebrate the 7th month of pregnancy. The ceremony was held for a couple of Fikriatun and Wilis. In fact, Fikriatun was the daughter of Suwarsih Madya, Ph.D Professor at the Faculty of Languages and Arts that was also the former Vice Rector IV of YSU.
