DOMREMY CO. LTD JAPAN REPRESENTATIVE MET PROSPECTIVE UNY STUDENTS PARTICIPATED ON INTERNATIONAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Fumiya Kikuchi as the representative of Domremy Co.Ltd visited UNY’s Faculty of Engineering to meet with UNY students who will participated in the internship program (01/11/2019). Fumiya was warmly welcomed by the Dean, Vice Dean of Academic and Cooperation Affairs, Head of Culinary  Education Study Program, Head of international Affairs and Cooperation Unit and lecturers of culinary education study program.

Domremy Co.Ltd is a company founded in 1975 that has a line of business including the manufacture of fresh or frozen bread as well as, cakes, pies, and other food products. Fumiya explained that his company was very satisfied with previous collaboration because the students sent were proven to be able to work according to the standards applied by the company. "Their skills and competencies are very good so they can adapt to the company culture quickly," Fumiya Kikuchi explained. On this occasion, Fumiya Kikuchi met about 25 students from the Culinary Education study program. He explained about the structure, culture and working standard in Domremy Co.Ltd. In addition, he also revealed the award system for those who are able to work well.

Meanwhile, the Head of the International Affairs and Partnership Unit (UUIK), Ibnu Siswanto, Ph.D., explained that Faculty of Engineering UNY had sent dozens of students for internships in Japan. "Besides Domremy Co. Ltd., some Japanese companies are also our partners such as Sanyo Tec Co., Ltd., Kowatech Co.LTD, and Sagami Fresh Co., Ltd., "he said.

"We continue to develop an internship program in Japan because there are so many benefits that students can learn, especially about a very good work culture such as work ethics, time discipline, and a more practical and sophisticated work system," Ibnu concluded. (hryo; Tj.Lak)
