As part of the development step towards World Class University, Yogyakarta State University continues to work together with universities / related institutions, major from abroad. Referring to the commitment, Yogyakarta State University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with one of the Polish universities, University of Gdansk - at the Main Senate Meeting Room on Wednesday (31/01/2018). The University of Gdansk (UG) is one of the top universities in Poland with an EECA ranking of 83 in 2017. The cooperation between UNY and The University of Gdansk was initially implemented through the INDOPED platform in the Pedagogy Innovation workshop program, which was completed by The University Gdansk. In 2017, the cooperation in this INDOPED platform will end, and considering that this joint activity can be continued and developed bilaterally, UNY and UG agree to increase cooperation in the form of an MoU that will be the legal basis for bilateral cooperation. Some activities that have been designed after the signing of this bilateral MoU are the continuation of the Pedagogy Innovation workshop program and the implementation of UG Minor Abroad Program to UNY.
Prof. Jerzy Piotr Gwizdala, the Rector of the University of Gdansk, also advised that they open a great opportunity for Indonesian students to further study in Poland where the cost of living there is more affordable compared to other western European countries (andre).
