Professor of UNY Elected as AASVET President

Professor of the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), Prof. Dr. Mochamad Bruri Triyono, has been elected as President of the Asian Academic Society for Vocational Education and Training (AASVET). Established in 2005, AASVET is a leading academic organization founded by prominent scholars in vocational education and training from across Asia, dedicated to the exchange of knowledge, research findings, and best practices in vocational education among Asian nations.

Prof. Dr. Mochamad Bruri Triyono’s appointment as President is anticipated to strengthen Indonesia's influence in the field of vocational education across Asia. His leadership is expected to foster international collaboration, contribute to the development of robust vocational education policies in the region, and enhance the quality and relevance of vocational education in Indonesia.

Prof. Bruri’s election as the 8th AASVET president for the 2025-2026 term was confirmed during the AASVET Board Member Meeting held in Shanghai on November 1, 2024. He expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him, stating, "I am grateful for this mandate, and we will carry it out to the fullest."

For Prof. Bruri, who graduated in 1983 from IKIP Yogyakarta’s Mechanical Engineering Education program, this role represents not only a personal achievement but also a milestone for UNY in meeting the Employment Outcomes (EO) indicator within the QS World University Rankings framework. The EO indicator assesses an institution's success in preparing graduates with high employability and creating impactful alumni.
