UNY provided basic need support mainly in form of food packages for students who remained in the boarding house during the Covid-19 pandemic. Prof. Sutrisna Wibawa as the Rector of UNY revealed that there were already hundreds of food packages distributed to students.
"In the Faculty of Languages and Arts, the second batch of this program has been completed and successfully support almost 200 students. In other faculties it has also begun to be coordinated and distributed with a total of hundreds of food packages, "said Sutrisna.
The main target of basic food aid is for students who live in closed or lockdown settlements. This support is also given to bidikmisi students.
"This is a part of supoport from the campus, lecturers, and UNY employees, so that UNY students can carry out their learning activities optimally in the midst of the existing conditions," said Sutrisna.
The distributed food packages were from the campus funds, the lecturers, and UNY employees’ voluntary donation. Sutrisna revealed that there is no exact limit on how many food packages were distributed. All will be set based on the donation. UNY Rector inform students who are in need to contact Vice-Dean of Student Affairs in each faculty.
There will be priority setting for those who apply for the support. "This assistance is prioritized for students who find it difficult to meet basic needs. There are no restrictions in the distribution of food packages, but the Vice-Dean of Student Affairs will sort by priority scale and adjust the donation capacity available. Hopefully it can meet the basic needs of UNY students, "added Sutrisna. (Ilham Dary A; Tj.Lak)
