UNY Sends 12 Students to Youth Leadership Conference in Malaysia

On Thursday, April 17, 2014, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) officially sent off 12 students to represent the university at the 2nd Youth Leadership International Conference (IYLC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event, held from April 20–25, 2014, brings together young leaders from around the world. The selected students come from various student organizations and extracurricular units, including BEM KM, DPM KM, UKM Penelitian, UNSTRAT, and several sports and arts clubs.

The send-off ceremony was attended by UNY Rector Prof. Dr. Rochmat Wahab, M.Pd., M.A., Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto, M.Kes., Vice Rector for Cooperation Prof. Suwarsih Madya, Ph.D., and Head of UNY’s Office of International Affairs and Partnerships Dr.-Ing. Satoto E. Nayono, M.Eng., M.Sc. Two faculty members, Siswanto, M.Pd. and Nur Insani, M.Sc., were appointed as student advisors during the program.

Rector Prof. Rochmat Wahab expressed that the initiative aligns with UNY's vision of becoming a World Class University. He emphasized the importance of global exposure and urged students to both develop internationally competitive skills and proudly introduce local wisdom on the world stage.(Lak)
