Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) held the 2022 UNY Network Awards at the UNY Performance Hall on Wednesday (25/5). UNY Rector, Prof. Sumaryanto, said that UNY is continuously improving itself and consolidating to meet institutional status changes to become a Legal Entity State University. UNY strives for institutional and scientific transformation, financial independence, and strengthening the research culture with its new status. UNY also improves collaboration programs, lecturer recognition, research-based learning, and student involvement in research activities and community service. All of these are possible due to the support and collaboration of UNY partners. By applying the Penta helix principle, multi-stakeholder cooperation, UNY, as part of the academic element, continues to strive to develop and improve cooperation with government agencies, the business and industrial world, the community, and the community, and the mass media. The 2022 UNY Network Awards activity, which was held this morning, is a real effort by UNY to maintain this commitment to synergy and cooperation.
Ambassador of the People's Republic of China and Mongolia, Djauhari Oratmangun, one of the Indonesian Embassy's partners in UNY explained the potential for cooperation between Indonesia and China in the fields of education and culture research and technology is still wide open. The implementation of the emancipation campus also expands the scope of cooperation with the development of human resources and collaboration between UNY and the best universities in China toward a world-class university.
Senior Professor of University Malaya Prof. Muh Saleh Aman, Ph.D explained that his institution has collaborated with UNY since 2010 by collaborating on seminars, student and staff exchanges and visiting professors. "We feel lucky to be working with UNY," he said. According to him, University Malaya has had similarities with the National University of Singapore since 1905. It now has 29,000 students, with international students from more than 40 countries. University Malaya has won the QS World Ranking at position 85 and number 8 in the Asian World University Ranking. Muh Saleh Aman hopes that UNY can become one of the best universities in Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and the World.
The Vice-Rector for Planning and Cooperation of UNY, Prof. Siswantoyo, said that UNY Network Awards 2022 is part of UNY's effort to maintain, inform, and support the partners working together with UNY. "Following our motto 'Together we can, United we prosper, and we win in partnership', we are ready to rise to face changes," he said. The awards attempt to improve the partnership progress for more mutually beneficial collaboration with academics, industries, and governmental institutions. Siswantoyo believes that a successful partnership requires an extensive and intensive cooperation network.
Symbolically, UNY also has signing ceremonies with the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) as a national partner and the University of Lahore as an international partner. Ir. Sugeng Subarjo as Acting Head of BAPETEN said that the main area of implementation of the collaboration with UNY was the implementation of the study. “This study is devoted to policy-making related to nuclear power control. This is what UNY will collaborate with. There are several facilities that UNY can use as a place for learning to improve human resources, as well as BAPETEN can take advantage of this extraordinary network from UNY to socialize and improve our human resources at BAPETEN,” he said. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, as rector of the University of Lahore expressed his gratitude for signing the MoU with UNY. "This is the first time we signed MoU with Indonesian University. We invite UNY to have an exchange program, joint publication, and future collaboration. This MoU is a milestone for us. I also congratulate UNY for organizing UNY Network Awards 2022, "he said.
UNY invited national and international partners such as the Indonesian Embassy, the Consulate General, Indonesian Schools, international industries, and universities. Hopefully, this activity can strengthen networks, and improve cooperation programs. Some of the categories that were held included the UNY Emancipation Campus Awards, UNY Partners Awards, UNY Partnership Awards, and UNY PR Awards.
