The UNY MIPA Scientific Study Group (KSI MIST) strengthens the development of village empowerment in Tambakromo Gunungkidul. Through the Village Empowerment Development Program (P3D) scheme, UNY students have carried out a series of programs that will take place from August to November 2021. This activity involves the Tabakromo youth group, housewives, art activists, and cultural assistants.
The KSI MIST UNY team held several activities, including the inauguration of the Tambakromo Cultural Park, a Cooking Competition, and a Batik Motif Design Competition. In addition, the team had a Cultural Festival as the peak event, which was enlivened by performances of children's dance, Gambyong dance, and Batok dance.
Latifah Nur Khasanah, as the head of the P3D implementation team, explained that the team had held a Training on the Development of Cultural Tourism Potential and the Maintenance of Cultural Park Facilities in Tambakromo.
“The Department of Tourism and Culture fully supports the implementation of the Cultural Tourism Potential Development Training. Purnomo Sumardamto S Hut, MA, M.Eng., Head of the Promotion and Information Section of the Tourism Office, became a resource person in the training that we carried out. We hope that this training can increase the knowledge, motivation, and competence of cultural tourism village managers so that they are highly competitive,” she said.
