"UNY is always ready to support youth programs. Through the collaboration between UNY and Karang Taruna (Youth Organization), hopefully, there will be more successful problem-solving both in Yogyakarta and in Indonesia," said Prof. Dr. Siswantoyo, S.Pd., M.Kes., AIFO, Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of UNY at the opening of the Pekan Inovasi Sosial #1 (Social Innovation Week) on Monday, September 18, 2023.
"Thank you to UNY for supporting this event. It is time for youth organizations to be at the forefront of change in the village," said GKR Hayu, Chairperson of Youth Organization of Yogyakarta Province. This event is a form of collaboration between UNY and Karang Taruna Yogyakarta that brings together potential innovators and collaborators from government, industry, and the community. To sharpen and strengthen the various social innovations that various youth organizations in Yogyakarta have developed, the team has selected 106 participants who then determined the best 50 participants from 4 districts and 1 municipality in Yogyakarta province. The fields of innovation that have been developed are related to Creative Economy, Education, Technology, Culture, Tourism Environment and Social Community.
These 50 participants then received a reinforcement of understanding related to "Youth Organization Innovation in Yogyakarta" by Masduki Rahmat (Organization, Cadre, and Institutional Management of Karang Taruna Yogyakarta), and "Social Innovation and Social Impact Program" by Nova Suparmanto (Lecturer and entrepreneur of UNY). The activity continued with Focus Group Discussion and Assessment from the jury and facilitators. From this stage, 50 participants will be selected, and 20 participants will continue to the following selection process.
