Yogyakarta State University (YSU) will send a number of students for having a teaching practice in Thailand. The official facilitator of such an agenda is LPPMP (Institute for the Education Development and Quality Assurance) in collaboration with the Office of International Affairs and Partnerships (OIAP) of YSU. There will be 4 students ready to depart on 17 July 2016, namely Yonis Iman Sari and Aini Nu Rahmah from English Education, and Andina Yuliana Dewi and Nurul Purnaningsih from Mathematics Education. Each student will have teaching practice organized by 4 Thailand universities. Let us say Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University (ARU), Suratthani Rajabhat University (SRU), Thepsatri Rajabhat University (TRU), dan Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University (VRU).

Before departing to the destination country, YSU was carrying out pre departure training for 4 days since Tuesday (June 27, 2016) to Friday (July 1, 2016) with general materials such as international services, understanding foreign cultures, tips on how to survive in the destination country by OIAP, followed by much more detailed and technical things in terms of the implementation of teaching practice, like micro-teaching, preparation of lesson plan, teaching in the classroom using English, and teamwork building by LPPMP.

"Sending YSU students to have international teaching practice is expected to be one of the strategic moves by YSU to become the World Class Teaching University in 2025," as suggested by Ratna Anugrah, the staff of Foreign Partnerships at OIAP who is also in charge for organizing the international teaching practice this year. In addition to the 4 students , there are still 17 other students who will have such a teaching practice, but with different country of destination, that is Malaysia. (Wulan)
