INAUGURATION OF PROFESSOR OF APPLIED LINGUISTIC AND PROFESSOR OF MODERN LITERATURE

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta will inaugurate two professors on Saturday (7/11) at the UNY Auditorium. The two professors who were inaugurated were Professor of Applied Linguistics Prof. Dr. Sulis Triyono, M.Pd. and Professor of Modern Literature Prof. Dr. Wiyatmi, M.Hum from the Language and Arts Faculty. At present, UNY has 164 professors.

According to Bayu Septian, spokeperson of Babelanja, the presence of Babelanja since 2019 has been set as a forum intended as an Instagram-based advertising or promotion service (@ babelanja.id) with the aim of communicating, informing, and promoting consumers non-personally about information on special goods and services in the province of Bangka Belitung Islands.

HAND SANITIZER MADE OF AVERRHOA BILIMBI LINN LEAF EXTRACT

UNY Students have successfully developed a hand sanitizer product from Averrhoa Bilimbi Linn leaf extract.  Averrhoa Bilimbi Linn is known for having tannin compounds which have antibacterial property. Students who participated on the development of the hand sanitizer are Septiana Eka Mufliha (Chemistry Education), Nia Indriyani (Biology Education), Rima Walhikmah (Physics), Hafiizhoh Hanafiah (Chemistry), and Deva Noor Rahma (Accounting).

UNY STUDENTS INITIATE DRUG-FREE HEALTHY FAMILY PROGRAM

Drug abuse and addiction have become disturbing problem in Yogyakarta. To deal with such problem, UNY students initiated the Drug-Free Healthy Family program as an effort to create a drug-resistant Yogyakarta by cooperating with the PKK partner at Karangmalang Depok Sleman. IMPROVING CUTTER AND CLEANSER CATFISH MACHINE TO BOOST BUSINESS PRODUCTIVITY AT LALA LELE BIOFLOK

UNY Students team on PKM-applied technology have succeeded in designing a catfish loading machine to increase the productivity of catfish breeders. They are Abdul Rosyid Hidayatullah, Muhammad Faqihul Imam (Physics), Heni Febriani (Biology), Yoga Agung Saputra (Mechanical Engineering Education), and Hestiana (Science Education).

BOARDING SCHOOL POLICY IN IMPLEMENTING CHARACTER EDUCATION

Boarding school is quite popular in Indonesia. The presence of boarding schools in Indonesia is an effective educational model in educating intellectuality, skills, character building and instilling moral values in students so that students will know more about the values of truth, honesty, virtue, wisdom, and compassion as universal values of religion.

DRYING MACHINE FOR OPAK

One of the areas that cultivates cassava is Kesugihan sub-district, Cilacap. In this area, cassava processes into various food products. One of them is opak. Unfortunately, conventional steaming and drying method will need considerable time and large space. Based on these problems, UNY students who participated in student of applied technology program has designed special machine called Opak Dryer Machine. This machine hopefully will improve production level of Oemah Opak own by Solikhin.

UNY HOSTED THE 5TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON LITERATURE (ICOLITE)

The development of technology and information changes people's lifestyle. This lifestyle change has implications on how people maintain balance with themselves and their surroundings. Art (including literature) has a portion of contribution on digital transformation so that people can enjoy life in harmony. This view was raised in the international conference of The 5th International Conference on Literature (ICOLITE).

UNY WILL HELD THE SECOND VIRTUAL GRADUATION IN AUGUST

UNY will organized the second virtual graduation ceremony on 29 August, 2020. The Head of the Academic, Student and Cooperation Bureau, Drs. Setyo Budi Takarina, M.Pd. said  that the decision to organize online graduation ceremony based on the fact that Yogyakarta's emergency response  on covid-19 was extended until August 31, 2020.

” For the sake of health safety and security of all (UNY residents, committees, participants, and families of graduates), we choose graduation to be done online or virtual, “he said.
