The Belitung Regency Government signed a joint agreement with Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) on Wednesday (25/1) in Sleman by Belitung Regent Sahani Saleh, S.Sos and UNY Rector Prof. Sumaryanto. "We have been waiting for a collaborative visit from Belitung Regency. Hopefully, we will get a positive result from the collaboration we will carry out with Belitung Regency," said the Rector of UNY.

"The certified independent study and internship (MSIB) program is a bridge for students to prepare themselves to become professional practitioners, entrepreneurs, academics, or freelancers. Students must be prepared to face technological, socio-cultural, labor, and environmental challenges. Internship activities also open up opportunities for students to get a job offer before graduation," said Ria Aprilia, M.Psi. as MSIB manager. UNY send off students participating in the UNY Independent Student Exchange Program

UNY sent off 137 students who participated in the Independent Student Exchange (PMM) 2 in the Rector's Main Meeting Room on Friday (6/1). UNY Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Siswantoyo, said that next year's PMM program student services would be further improved in line with the change in status of UNY from Public Service University to a State University with a Legal Entity. "The PMM students will be placed in the UNY Wedomartani dormitory starting on August 29, 2022 and ending on January 6, 2023," he said.

Isti Yunita, M.Sc., Ph.D., lecturer in the Department of Chemistry Education, UNY, recently became a visiting professor at the Department of Mining and Metallurgical Institute, Satbayev University, Kazakhstan. Isti had the opportunity to teach about "Green Catalyst for chemical transformation: The need for sustainable development". Isti explained about the manufacture of catalysts from egg shell waste to overcome the problem of plastic bottle waste, so that it can be concluded from the optimization of waste to solve waste problem.

To expand the cooperation network, Prof. Sumaryanto, as Rector of UNY, was accompanied by Vice-Rector for Planning and Cooperation, Prof. Siswantoyo. His entourage recently opened the door for cooperation in the African region. The collaboration was carried out with the University of Burundi, in Bujumbura City. The University of Burundi, established in 1964, is a public university in a country that has recently been free from war and civil conflict for approximately 70 years. Soldiers and police officers always carry rifles in every corner of the city.

Present to welcome from UNY was the Head of UNY KLI, Basikin, Ph.D. along with the Secretary of KLI, dr. Kartika Ratna Pertiwi and the staff. The group from MSU Malaysia who arrived in Yogyakarta on Tuesday (25/10) was 16 students accompanied by two staff.

Kuwarisan Village has the potential as a religious tourism village. To accelerate village development, the UNY community service team held a tourism awareness group sharing session on Friday, October 30, 2022 at the Grave of Grandmother Aroengbinang, Kuwarisan Village, Kebumen Regency.

The event was attended by representatives from the Kebumen Tourism and Culture Office, Gunarso, S.Sos., M.M. and CEO of Goa Pindul Entrepreneurial Destination Dr. Yudan Hermawan, S.Pd., M.Pd. who is also a UNY lecturer as a resource person.
