Students of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta consisting of Arif Hidayat (Communication Department) and Farhan Kusuma Wardana (Department of Physics Education) won Silver Award Category B2 (Science, Engineering & Technology) and FB Lucky Draw in the International Invention & Innovative Competition (InIIC) organized by MNNF NETWORK. The event took place at the Palace of the Golden Horses, Selangor, Malaysia on 31 October-3 November 2019.

Arif Hidayat said that there were many benefits gained through the InIIC 2019 activities, including expanding relations, adding knowledge in the field of writing, adding knowledge from the judges and lecturers who were very extraordinary, getting books of works, and opportunities for publication in ISJ journals.

The communication science student further explained, in the InIIC 2019 event the UNY team made technological innovations namely MONASS (Mobile Business Assistant). MONASS is an android-based business analysis application that can facilitate fisheries businesses in conducting business management so that coastal communities can make managerial decisions quickly and accurately.

"The MONASS application can help businesses calculate how many aspects of the business such as the total cost, the minimum price of the product, the profits, and the efficiency of the business being run. "The method of implementing MONASS in coastal communities uses an education and lifeskill approach to improve the quality of human resources in coastal areas," he added.

Farhan Kusuma Wardana added, the making of MONASS was motivated by the condition where many coastal communities that are small-scale fisheries (fishermen and cultivators) businesses are faced with an imbalance between the selling value of fishery products and the cost of production. These problems make the fisheries business suffer losses. The lack of ability to manage finances, lack of knowledge and education make them unfamiliar with business management that can help their businesses to be feasible. "With the MONASS application it is expected that fisheries entrepreneurs will be able to improve their welfare through the businesses they run," he said (Eko; Tj.Lak)
