Yogyakarta State University was awarded the second runner up of 2015 Public Relation Media Award for National Category of Institution Profile. The winner and runner up are The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and Secretariat State Information Centers. The annual award was held by Bakohumas (Public Relation Coordinating Board or Badan Koordinasi Kehumasan) which is a coordination forum of state institutions’ public relation center.

On the move to the world class university, Yogyakarta State University (YSU) through its Graduate School tries to widen its cooperation network with foreign institutions. In the attempt to meet the goal of the international cooperation, Art Education Master’s Program (AEMP) of Graduate School YSU has recently been through the initial stage to cooperate with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia (15/10/2015). Numerous unique phenomena exist in karst, namely biological diversity, both in the inside and outside. The biological phenomena in the carst areas are interesting to research, such as biotic diversity in caves and kinds of biotic adaptation in totally dark karst caves. The cave topography is characterized with low energy source, stable microclimate condition compared to the outside, and high humidity; those make up the home of unique and typical biota.

Faculty of Mathematics and Science (FMS), Yogyakarta State University (YSU) shows its strong intention to participate in the attempt of bringing YSU to the World Class University, namely through building international cooperation with University of Hull (UH), United Kingdom. Housed in Meeting Room 1 FMS, this discussion was emphasized on seeking potential collaboration between FMS YSU and UH. Attending the discussion were Dr. Hartono, M.Si. as the Dean of FMS, and also Head of Mathematics Education, Head of Physics, and Staff of Office of International Affairs and Partnerships (OIAP) YSU.

Credit Transfer between Medan State University (MSU) and Yogyakarta State University will end up about seven weeks away. Therefore, MSU leaders, one of which is Vice Rector 2, Dr. Restu, M.S., had a visit to YSU for monitoring and evaluation in terms of Initial Twin Program/Credit Transfer of MSU to YSU on Wednesday (18/11/2015) housed in the Senate Courtroom, YSU.

National Student Sports Week (NSSW) is a prestigious multi national level event designed for students. Syah Kuala University, Banda Aceh managed to be the host of this-year event. One of the competitions is archery. Archery match schedule began on Saturday to Thursday (14 — 19 November, 2015).

A team of Student Activity Unit of Research YSU has just recently grabbed prestigious achievement in national event, namely PPIPM FAIR in 2015 organized by Padang State University (PSU) on the 28th – 31st October, 2015. This is an annual event with the theme of "The Role of Students as Agents of Change in the Development of Sains, Technology, and Art in the Face of 2015 AEC". The YSU delegation successfully made resounding accomplishment, obtaining the 1st champion of Young Research Competition among the top ten delegates around Indonesia.

On Monday (12/10/2015), several students of German Language Education had just arrived at Frankfurt am Main, Germany ; they were visiting the country as participants of Studienreise from Faculty of Languages and Arts, YSU. Joining the agenda was Sri Megawati, M.A. as the supervising lecturer.

Maryana, a student of Faculty of Economics YSU has recently been applaused for her writing which got Best Paper on Youth Summit on Cooperatives Entrepreneurship and Economic Democracy organized by Student Cooperation, Gadjah Mada University in Graha Sabha Pramana (24/10/2015). This is a yearly event and currently brings the theme of “Youth as the Cooperation Actor in the Face of ASEAN Ecomonic Community (AEC)”.
