Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) is ready to host the 2024 Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (KRTI), which will be held on September 12-18, 2024. Taking place at the Faculty of Vocational Studies Gunungkidul Campus and Gading Airfield, Playen, this prestigious event is expected to be a stage to showcase students' best innovations in the development of flying robot technology. Collaborating with TNI-AU to provide airfield facilities, UNY is committed to presenting a competition that will spur creativity and research in the field of aerial robotics.

Prof. Guntur, Director of the Directorate of Academic, Student Affairs and Alumni of UNY as well as the person in charge of KRTI 2024, stated that the preparation of the event went well and smoothly. “We are very proud to host KRTI 2024. This is not just a competition, but a golden opportunity to showcase the progress of technological research in Indonesia, especially in the field of flying robots and drones,” he said.

KRTI 2024 will feature five categories designed to test participants' innovation capabilities in real-world applications: Racing Plane (RP), Fixed Wing (FW), Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL), Technology Development (TD), and Long Endurance Low Attitude (LELA). The participants are expected to create solutions that can be applied to various sectors, such as goods delivery, area mapping, and search and rescue operations. With the support of advanced facilities, including a drone test field equipped with the latest technology, UNY is ready to provide a maximum competition experience.

As a prestigious national event, KRTI 2024 collaborates with various important partners, such as the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology and sponsors from the domestic technology industry. Prof. Guntur hopes, “We want this event to be a driving force for the birth of new innovations from Indonesian students, as well as strengthen research collaboration between universities.”

KRTI 2024 will be attended by 100 teams from 42 universities across Indonesia. They will compete with the most advanced technology to win and make their respective institutions proud. With all the preparations, UNY is optimistic that this event will be successful and inspire the young generation of Indonesia in the development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV).

The Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (KRTI) is an annual competition organized by the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI) - National Achievement Center, Ministry of Education Culture Research and Technology. This event provides an opportunity for students to be creative in unmanned vehicle (drone) technology that can perform missions autonomously. KRTI also serves as a platform to share knowledge with the general public, students, researchers, and UAV enthusiasts.
