The Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences at UNY had the opportunity to cooperate with JICA Japan. The cooperation designed is about sending professional trainers in the sports of volleyball, archery, and tennis to improve the quality of coaching education at the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences UNY.
As well as the professional trainers, the recent discussion on cooperation with JICA proposed the addition of experts in the field of sports. The Dean of the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences, Prof. Dr. Wawan S. Suherman, M.Ed. stated that the physical literacy of today's society must also be improved and intensified so that the presence of volunteers from JICA can build a culture of love for sports at UNY and also in Yogyakarta. In addition, Prof. Soni Nopembri, Ph.D., Head of the Department of S3 Physical Education also emphasized that it is hoped that not only professional trainers, but also sports researchers can attend the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences UNY to improve research in the field of sports.
Taguchi Shinji and Hari Ramadhan as representatives of JICA welcomed the proposal submitted by the leaders of the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences UNY. They will accommodate the needs of trainers and professional experts needed by the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences UNY. It is hoped that with this cooperation, the quality of education and sports professions at the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences UNY will continue to improve.
