UNY Receives UI Greenmetrics World University Ranking Award

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) received the UI Greenmetrics World University Ranking award at Unhas Hotel and Convention Makassar on Thursday (30/11). The award was received by the Chairman of WCU UNY, Prof. Mochamad Bruri Triyono, representing the Rector. In his speech, Prof. Mochamad Bruri Triyono expressed his gratitude for this achievement and hoped it would be a spirit to improve better performance, especially to make UNY campus more sustainable. UNY was awarded as the Most Sustainable Innovative University in Indonesia with a Trees Rating of 3.5 and was in 16th position out of 30 best sustainable universities in Indonesia.

Head of UI Greenmetric Prof. Riri Fitri Sari said that in this year's UI Greenmetric Package service, many universities in Indonesia had achieved extraordinary ratings. "There are several universities that reached a rating of 4.5, which is extraordinary," she said. This activity ensures that infrastructure in Indonesia is internationalized. How to evaluate and move the system states that the campus, as contained in the sustainability ranking, is good, and we must continuously improve so that Indonesia will radiate examples of society paying attention to equality and balance between social, economic and environmental so that it is reflected in the way we manage the environment. The University of Indonesia professor revealed that this year, more than 1200 universities submitted from all over the world.

UI Greenmetric is an initiative to evaluate and rank universities based on their efforts in implementing environmentally friendly and sustainable practices. UI Greenmetric not only measures university sustainability efforts but also encourages positive changes in environmental behavior and policies among higher education institutions around the world and builds a vision to become a respected world university ranking that positively impacts the environment and global sustainability.
