Green Campus

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) continues to strengthen its commitment to building a sustainable campus through the provision of two Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations located on the Rectorate grounds and at the Faculty of Engineering (FT), each with a capacity of 1 kW. The presence of these facilities is part of UNY’s efforts to support the acceleration of the electric vehicle ecosystem while providing supporting infrastructure for members of the academic community and campus guests who use electric vehicles.

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) received the UI Greenmetrics World University Ranking award at Unhas Hotel and Convention Makassar on Thursday (30/11). The award was received by the Chairman of WCU UNY, Prof. Mochamad Bruri Triyono, representing the Rector. In his speech, Prof. Mochamad Bruri Triyono expressed his gratitude for this achievement and hoped it would be a spirit to improve better performance, especially to make UNY campus more sustainable.

To support environmental sustainability, UNY continues to encourage the reduction of vehicles entering campus in its environment by promoting the use of bicycles in the campus environment. This policy follows the world campus ranking based on Green Campus performance.

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta welcomed its 58th anniversary by planting three trees. The trees planted are the tanjung  tree (Mimusops elengi), mango tree (Mangifera indica), and tamarind tree (Tamarindus indica). The chairman of UNY alumni, Prof. Suyanto is one of the foster parents for several trees currently growing at UNY.
