Final and fastest final car competition Drivers' World Championship (DWC) 2018 is a week away. Various preparations have been made by three selected teams all from Indonesia to represent the Asian region in London, England from 3 to 9 July tomorrow. The three teams made it to the top three in the DWC regional Asia held at Shell Eco-Marathon Asia (SEMA) in Singapore last March.

For students, following the outside activities such as scientific work competition both in the national and international arena is a pride for the university in the name of good. Likewise with some students of Yogyakarta State University who joined in the Ministry of Youth and Sports Education (DIKPORA) BEM KM UNY 2018 recently won 3 categories of silver award and 1 bronze award category in International Invention and Innovative Competition competition (InIIC Series 1/2018) held at the Federal Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, through the Office of International Affairs and Cooperation (KUIK) held the closing ceremony of Darmasiswa Program, KNB, LN Credit Transfer and Credit Transfer LPTK DN 2018, Tuesday (5/5) at Auditorium.

Malaysian Student of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) consisting of Farah Nadia Binti Shukordi, Hastinah Binti Hamsah and Mohd Khairy Izzuan Bin Moho Yusof have completed a one-semester credit transfer in Chemistry Education Department FMIPA UNY. The three studied at UNY from February to May 2018. The students took 4 subjects namely Molecular Dynamics, Chemical Instrument Analysis, Basic Organic Chemistry, and Non-Metal Inorganic.

Dr. Ali Mustadi, M.Pd again presented the research results titled "Reflective-Picture Storybook: Improving Social Skill and Reading Literacy for Elementary Students in Indonesia" and discussed it with the participants of the 11th Biennial Conference of the Comparative Education Society of Asia (CESA) which is themed "Education and Social Progress: Insights from Comparative Perspectives". The conference was followed by educational experts from various countries and published into the proceedings and journals indexed Scopus.

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta once again struck its achievements in the national championship in Scientific Paper Competition by becoming the first winner of the Innovation Contest (ICON) contest at the Faculty of Economics UNY (04-06 / 05). While the second winner was won by the team from Diponegoro University and the third winner by the team of Universitas Gadjah Mada. ICON itself is one of the prestigious national event for Indonesian students which is held annually by UKMF Research CRYRAL FE UNY.

Wisanggeni Warrior Team from Engineering Development Division of UKM Engineering Technology Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta re-incised achievement in the national event by winning the 2nd International Roof Truss Design (IRTDC) at UGM (1-5 / 05/2017). In addition to the trophy the team is also entitled to a coaching fund of 500 USD.
This team consists of Hendra Dewata, Mahsya Polivcha Putri, and Wahyu Bagas Pamungkas from the Department of Civil Engineering and Planning, Faculty of Engineering UNY under the guidance of Darmono, M.T.

Garuda Car Team UNY successfully achieved 'Grand Prix Hybrid Car Category' achievement in International Student Car Competition (ISCC) 2018 competition as the highest achievement in the event. The competition takes place on 18-19 May 2018 organized by Korean Automobile Testing and Research Institute (KATRI) at KATRI Songsan-Myun Paving Ground, Hwasong-si, Gyeonggi-Do, South Korea. In the competition, Garuda UNY with Garuda Hybrid 2018 (GH-18) managed to occupy 1st Acceleration, 1st Maneuver / Gymkhana Overall, and 1st Endurance.

The 10th Global Culture Festival (GCF) that was held at the Monument of Serangan Umum 1 Maret was lively (10/5/2018). The GCF organized by Yogyakarta State University (UNY) is an event to introduce Indonesian tourism, art, and culture to the international community, as well as introducing the culture from various countries in the world to the people of Indonesia, especially Yogyakarta.
