Students class of 2013 of Mechanical Engineering Education of the Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University (FE YSU) created electric pedicab named `Simple Electric Tricycle` (7/03). They are Yondi Akirudin, Risna Sari Dewi, Dwi Hari Purnomo, Aris Sulistyo, Wisnu Pamungkas, and Rio Rizki Khanigia. They constructed this work under the guidance of Dr. Eng. Didik Nurhadiyanto, M.T., Febrianto Amri Ristiadi, M.Eng.Sc., and Prof. Thomas Sukardi, M.Pd. This electric tricycle uses an electric motor that can go up to 40 km / h.

On Monday (7/3/2016), housed in Abdullah Sigit, Faculty of Education, Yogyakarta State University (YSU), an information session on study in Aichi University of Education (AUE) Japan was held. The agenda was designed to promote the study in AUE Japan. Representing AUE were Prof. Kazuhiro Doki, Yoshitaka Kozuka, and Kenji Iwamitsu. Prof. Kazuhiro Doki as the Deputy Director for International Exchange also allowed question-answer session for the attendees. Over 90 students of varying departments in YSU joined the event.

Yogyakarta State University extended warm welcome to three delegates of Aichi University of Education (AUE), Japan (7/3/2016) namely Kazuhiro Doki, Yoshitaka Kozuka, and Kenji Iwamitsu. In the occasion of the campaign “Yuk Nabung Saham” (Let’s Buy Share), Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) invites public to participate in the creative competition through social media. The goal is to encourage people, especially young people to start investing in the stock market with a safe and profitable manner. Through the campaign "Let's Buy Share" IDX held Meme & Videogram Competition via Instagram and Twitter. IDX gives a voucher gift or cash expenditures and savings deposit funds in shares and free opening customer accounts for winners who do not have stock accounts.

In the attempt to conduct the 15th Asia TEFL Conference in 2017, Prof. Hyo-Woong Lee, Ph.D, a lecturer of Korea Maritime and Ocean University and the President of Asia TEFL, has just visited Yogyakarta State University (YSU) on Friday (4/3). Yogyakarta State University (YSU) and Telekomunikasi Indonesia Limited (Telkom Ltd.) agree to cooperate in supporting the development of YSU in the near future. This cooperation started with the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), in which on the behalf of YSU, was represented by Prof. Dr. Rochmat Wahab, M.Pd., M.A., the Rector of YSU, and on the side of Telkom was represented by Muhammad Awaluddin as the Director of EBIS Telkom yesterday (3/3/2016) at the West Senate Room, YSU.

Two graduates from Informatics Engineering Education, Yogyakarta State University (YSU) successfully developed and launched an Android-based app in Taipei to help identify halal products and services in Taiwan. They are Aris Kusumo Diantoro and Faisal Fahmi, graduated from YSU in 2013 and currently pursuing their Master degree in National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) Taiwan.

To taste the academic spirit in the United Stated is no longer merely a wish for Janu Muhammad, S.Pd, a Geography Education graduate, since he just recently grabbed the chance to attend short course in Arizona State University in Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Academic Fellowship on Civic Engagement. YSEALI took place from 20 February to 26 March 2016. This is a youth exchange program in ASEAN aiming at giving leadership training in the scope of environment, civic engagement, and entrepreneurship.
