Students of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta consisting of Arif Hidayat (Communication Department) and Farhan Kusuma Wardana (Department of Physics Education) won Silver Award Category B2 (Science, Engineering & Technology) and FB Lucky Draw in the International Invention & Innovative Competition (InIIC) organized by MNNF NETWORK. The event took place at the Palace of the Golden Horses, Selangor, Malaysia on 31 October-3 November 2019.

Faculty of Engineering UNY ready to send Muhammad Fikri Maulana and Rafi Johandy to participate in ASEAN Barista and Latte Art Competition 2019. Both of them are students from Culinary and Fashion Department. This competition organized by Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia on 23 to 28 November 2019. International Collabs Student Malaysia has been selected as the competition arena.

Arneta Putri from Psychology Department UNY won the first place in national rock climbing competition on Indonesian Psychology Innovation Week (PIPI) in Universitas Pancasila, Jakarta on 1 to 3 November 2019. This event previously known as Indonesia Psychology Olympiad (OPI) and has been organized for seventh times annually.

The Indonesian Electric Car Competition (KMLI) 2019 ended on 16 November 2019. Garuda UNY Team has participated in the whole series of events at Politeknik Negeri Bandung. On the last day, several categories such as slalom, acceleration and braking, grade and parking still has competitive activities. Similar situation also set for non-race category such as presentation, best driver, best team and many more. There are 25 team participated in KMLI and UNY fortunately won on the braking category dispute of 7 years participation absence. 

UNY organized the first digital innovation competition for university students. At first the competition was devoted to the education field, but based on team input it was changed not only for the education field but for the public. Therefore the name was changed to Student Digital Innovation Competition (LIDM). According to the Head of the Ristekdikti Student Reasoning and Creativity Head of Sub-Division of Reasoning and Creativity at the opening of LIDM in UNY Digital Library on Thursday (11/14).

Department of Civil Engineering Education and Planning Faculty of Engineering Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta organized a public lecture with Prof. Mdy Dr. Zainal Abidin Akasah from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Civil and Built-Environment, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), which explains the use of bamboo to build temporary shelters or shelters for disaster victims.

UNY’s Faculty of Sport Sciences is always open to potential cooperation and collaboration with various sport institution. This is set by the interest to improve sport performance and potential especially for Yogyakarta region.  Faculty of Sport Sciences will also support to share human resource, facilities and infrastructure as part of UNY commitment with Indonesian National Sport Committee(KONI). This message was stated by the Dean of Faculty of Sport Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto, M.Kes in his welcoming speech with KONI of Yogyakarta Region on Wednesday(6/11/2019) at GPLA Building.

UNY students participated in ASEAN International Conference: Climate Smart and Disaster Resilience (CSDR) 2019 in Intramuros, Manila, Philippines.. There are two teams from UNY who participated in this event. The first team has  Maya Eka Septiana  and Muh. Alfin Hanafi from Geography Education who wrote paper about climate and disaster education.  The second team has Fitrianto Hakim (Electrical Engineering Education) and Maya Eka Septiana who made paper about science, infrastructure, design, and assessment.

The Student Association of the Automotive Engineering Education Department, UNY maintain the support in bridging the passion for modification creation through”Autodays Modification Contest 2019". The event was held on 2 November 2019 in UNY Rectorate yard.  It is the 6th season for the auto contest held by UNY.

Primary Education Study Program of UNY Graduate School invited Prof. Mei-Ying Chen from National Chiayi University, Taiwan. She delivered a lecture about “Pre-Service Teacher Education in Taiwan”. In this lecture, UNY students learn about 3 strategies of teacher education in Taiwan to develop professional teacher by connecting rules on teacher education, the using of platform for adaptive learning and teaching practice program.
