TEACHERS ARE CHALLENGED IN AEC

In the year of 2016, Indonesia will enter the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) with 10 countries included. In the AEC, there are eight working areas which require the professionals to compete, namely engineering, architecture, accounting, land-survey, medicine, nursing, teaching, and tourism.

SOFT OPENING OF YSU ENTREPRENEURSHIP LABORATORY

“Students of Yogyakarta State University (YSU) are encouraged to involve actively in not only academic aspects but also non academic ones. They can use this Enterpreneurship Laboratory for meeting the demand of stakeholders as well as servicing communites” says Prof. Dr. Rochmat Wahab, M.Pd., YSU Rector in the Soft Opening of YSU Entrepreneurship Laboratory, on Wednesday 13th January 2015. The building is located on Affandi – Gejayan street, near the Post Office, and occupies an area of 9.325 m2.

YSU WELCOMES THE OFFER FOR LESSON STUDY WITH BENESSE INDONESIA

On Friday 8 January 2016, Yogyakarta State University (YSU) extended warm welcome to the visitation from Benesse Indonesia. Hosted by the Office of International Affairs and Partnerships (OIAP) YSU, that day agenda also invited Drs. M.A.,Ed.D. Wardan Suyanto as Vice Rector I YSU, Dr. Taat Wulandari, M.Pd as Vice Dean I of Faculty of Social Sciences YSU, and Dr. Ing. Satoto, E. Nayono, M.Eng., M.Sc. as the Director of OIAP. The aim is to discuss the Lesson Study conducted in collaboration between YSU and Benesse Indonesia .

THE LAUNCHING OF FT UNY TV

Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University (Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta) has just launched its first TV station located in LPTK building, 2nd floor (30/12-2015). The channel is aired on CH-21 or UHF 471.25 Mhz by manual setting. Production director of the FT UNY TV, Dr.Sri Waluyanti from Electronics Engineering Study Program mentioned the TV station, or TV lab unit to be exact, is designed to support the learning process of students particularly those majoring audio – video, and other related subjects, namely radio or tv transmitter, and telecommunication.

AGAIN, RESEARCH SCU OF YSU ACHIEVES GOLD MEDAL IN THE 3RD IIIC, TAIWAN

A team involving five Yogyakarta State University (YSU)students joined the Student Creativity Unit (SCU) of Research, namely Rifaldy Fajar (Mathematics, 2014), Atika Fauziyyah (English Education, 2013), Muhammad Muslim Machbub Sulthony (Elementary School Education, 2012), Fenti Richa Rukmana (Biology Education, 2014), and Andi Alif Sutadi Saputra (Elektrical Engineering Education, 2015) and have just grabbed a gold medal in The 3rd International Innovation and Invention Competition (IIIC) on 12 — 14 December 2015 in Ambassador Hotel, Taipei, Taiwan.

NEW STUDY ATMOSPHERE : SIT-IN AT UNIVERSITY OF MALAYA

In the attempt to support internationalization spirit in the faculty level, Faculty of Social Science (FSS), Yogyakarta State University (YSU) mandated 14 students to join sit-in in University of Malaya, (UM) Malaysia from 28 November to 12 December 2015. Adi Cilik Pierewan, Ph.D., as a supervising lecturer in the event pointed out that the aim of this program is to facilitate students to have study experience in another university overseas. “ They will enjoy studying while surrounded with international atmosphere,” he ascertained.

UJANG HARTATO, THE WINNER OF NATIONAL I BIQ IN UIN SUKA

It has been recently reported that a student of cooperation program between Education Authorities of South Sumatra and Yogyakarta State University (YSU), just grabbed a fantastic, non-academic achievement. He is Ujang Hartato, a student of Accounting Education of Faculty of Economics year 2012. He won National Bahtsu ‘Ilmi Al-Qur’an (BIQ) of Capacity Development and Tahsinul Qur’an, Faculty of Tarbiya and Teaching Sciences, Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University (UIN SUKA).

BEST PAPER OF 2015 STUDENT RESEARCHER FESTIVAL GOES TO YSU STUDENTS

Education is one of the right ways to enhance human resource development in a country. Today, learning medium is very important in delivering education because it will help improve the understanding of students by teachers; including on accounting subject. To teach accounting, one of the best learning media is education games, which began to develop these days. Through games, students could be easier to understand, remember, and apply accounting materials they gained.

YSU CHOIR SWARA WADHANA APPLAUDED FOR REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENT THIS YEAR

On Thursday, (17/12/2015), Swara Wadhana Choir of Yogyakarta State University (YSU) organized Grand Closing Concert Symphony of Swara Wadhana with the theme “Our Melody Tales”. Held in YSU Auditorium, the concert was end-year concert of 2015 stewardship that told their journey and story in 2015. Swara Wadhana (“SW”) choir showcased Mixed Choir and Indonesian ethnic songs serenaded with piano. The rehearsal run for 3 months.
