Taking job opportunities through Career Expo UNY 2022

The LPMPP Career and Certification Center of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta held the UNY Career Expo at the UNY Auditorium on Wednesday-Thursday (28-29/9). A total of 30 companies open job vacancies for various levels of education, from high school to undergraduate. According to the Head of Certification and Career Center, Dr. Minta Harsana, this activity aims to bridge the world of business and industry as users of labor with the world of education as labor producers.

Strengthening the Capacity of the Cawan Village Community in Starting and Developing MSMEs

The development of MSMEs in the community is one of the answers to alleviating poverty. This notion prompted the UNY student team, who conducted community service in Cawan Village, Klaten, to hold an activity called "Strengthening community capacity in the context of poverty alleviation". A total of 80 participants, including MSME owners in Cawan Village and youth groups, participated in this activity. The UNY student team invited Willa Luthfi, also known as Willa Ecobrick as a presenter. Willa shares his experiences explicitly in terms of operations to product marketing.

Increasing the Impact of the UNY Student Community Service Program

"Community service activities for UNY students will provide experiences about cultural assimilation and human literacy, one component of the industrial revolution 4.0 that will be very useful in the future. BTN Scholarships for UNY Students

Head Office of PT. Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero), Tbk, hand over Rp. 500,000,000 for Student Scholarship Education Assistance Program at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta(UNY). The Director of Distribution and Funding of Bank BTN, Jasmin, symbolically handed over this assistance to the Rector of UNY, Prof. Sumaryanto, on September 1, 2022, at UNY.

"We want this scholarship to be sustainable and can be given again next year," said Jasmin. Prof. Sumaryanto directly thanks Bank BTN for this educational assistance and hope that this collaboration can continue to help each other.

Hard Work Will Not Betray the Results, Desita Graduated with a GPA of 3.93

Desita Dwi Rahmatulloh became one of the happy graduates of UNY on August 27, 2022. Desita successfully graduated from the Communication Science StudyProgram UNY with a GPA of 3.93. Desita's achievement is the result of a long struggle. Studying in the Communication Science Program at UNY has been one of her dreams since she was in Vocational School. However, achieving goals is not easy.

Novi Dwi Astuti Never Gives Up on a Better Future

Novi Dwi Astuti proves that the spirit of never giving up is the key to success. The second daughter of the Gitono and Sartiyah, who work as construction workers and farm laborers, graduated from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) with a GPA of 3.88 and a study period of 3.5 years. Gitono said that since childhood Novi had never asked her parents for pocket money. "I support her to continue her education, but I don't have the money. Thank God, she got a bidikmisi scholarship at UNY," " said Gitono.

The Importance of Preventing Early Marriage

Legally, according to Law No. 16 of 2019, the minimum age for marriage for women in Indonesia is 19 years. However, in practice, cases of early marriage still often arise for various reasons. One reason that often appears is economic reasons. Few parents who have lost their income due to the COVID-19 pandemic believed that marrying off their children as early as possible would ease the burden on the family. This logic has triggered an increasing trend of applications for marriage dispensation involving children.
