The South Bantul region historically has the potential threat of earthquakes and tsunamis. However, this threat does not reduce the interest in developing tourism, especially along the coast of Bantul. This notion can be seen in the increasing number of centers of various activities and the expansion of population settlements. For this reason, active steps are needed to mitigate disasters.

Denok dance is one of the cultural icons in Semarang. This dance is a new creation dance in semarangan style with gambang semarang music developed by an artist and lecturer at Universitas Negeri Semarang, Bintang Hanggoro Putra. Denok dance has a unique movement that is twisting, swinging and light.  The uniqueness of this dance movement is one of the challenges that arise in the Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI) Regional Level 2023, from May 28 - June 3, 2023.

The Faculty of Language, Arts and Culture of Yogyakarta State University organized a social service outing for FBSB UNY International Students at Parangkusumo Beach. With the title "Beach Clean Up", this activity is a social service of beach cleaning, eco-bricking workshops and literacy-based fun activities with children around the beach. This activity involved international students taking credit transfer, bachelor and master programs at UNY. Forty-five international students participated in this activity.

Information technology has a very strategic role in helping empower people's potential. Empowerment of community members is strongly influenced by internal motivation (soft skills) and external motivation (presence of other people, environment, facilities, media, culture, community structure and so on). Community empowerment begins with making people aware of conditions, problems, needs and potential as initial capital for developing potential through capacity building (giving the power), utilizing power, managing power and developing it functionally.

Pesticide is a general term to describe all types of pest poisons. The word pesticide comes from the phrase pest and cide / cida, which means pest killer. In several studies, conventional chemical-based pesticides are often associated with farmers' health problems and water pollution. To minimize this risk, farmers can use plant-based pesticides as an alternative to traditional pesticides. Plant-based pesticides have active ingredients from plants and other organic materials that are efficacious in controlling pests and plant diseases.

Malin Kundang is a folk tale from Sumatra, while the story of Bandung Bondowoso and Roro Jonggrang is a legend in Java. These two stories then met creatively in a 'slapstick' ketoprak performance, Faculty of Economics, UNY, on Saturday, June 18, 2022. The entire cast was from lecturers, staff, and students interested in the arts. Director and event coordinator Rr. Chusnu Syarifa revealed that the ketoprak performance is a part of the effort to preserve traditional Javanese culture

Preservation of arts and culture can go hand in hand with technological development. This message emerged from the participation of the Yogyakarta State University (UNY) Robot Team in the Regional 2 Dance Robot Contest in 2022 at the Sepuluh November Institute of Technology, Surabaya. The UNY robot team featured Robot Rosemery, who danced Kancet Ledo and won second place. This robot contest is a part of the Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI).

Anyone can participate in the preservation of musical art. This spirit emerged from the initiation of the Retired Association (IKAPEN) UNY Karawitan Art Group by Drs. Wien Pudji PDP., M.Pd., a former lecturer from the Department of Dance Education, Faculty of Language and Arts UNY. Currently, the IKAPEN Karawitan Group already has 25 members.
