Thirty international class students from the Accounting Education program at the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), along with two lecturers and two staff members, participated in a sit-in program at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) from February 19–25, 2014. The visit, part of a six-month-planned international academic program, was slightly delayed due to the temporary closure of Adi Sutjipto Airport following the eruption of Mount Kelud.

The 2014 USINTEC Bi-Annual Meeting was held at UNY Hotel on Thursday, February 28, bringing together representatives from nine universities and USINTEC board members. USINTEC, a consortium of 15 Indonesian universities, SEAMOLEC, and The Ohio State University, focuses on improving human resource development and institutional capacity through international collaboration in teacher education.

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) hosted the 27th International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement (ICSEI) from January 2–7, 2014, at the Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel. The event brought together 375 participants from 33 countries, including education researchers, policymakers, and practitioners, to discuss global education issues and innovations. Indonesia became the third Asian country to host ICSEI, following Hong Kong and Malaysia.
