‘SKY TREM’ ECO-FRIENDLY TRANSPORTATION IDEAS BY UNY STUDENTS

Yogyakarta, one of the most popular cities in Indonesia, has various nicknames including being referred to as a student city, cultural city, and tourism city. This resulted in the city filled with newcomers either to just travel or settle some time to study and work. The influx of new arrivals led to an increase in population and in the volume of private vehicles in the city. This also caused high congestion and the occurrence of exhaust emissions. To lessen those problems, DIY Regional Government made mass transportation (e.g., Trans Jogja) to fulfill the public transportation needs.

UNY IS READY TO COLLABORATE WITH CHINA FOR THE PROGRESS OF EDUCATION IN INDONESIA

As a part of implementation on the collaboration between UNY and the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, UNY is ready to facilitate activities held between the Directorate General of Teachers and Education Personnel (GTK) of the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing in an activity entitled "Leadership Training from CLEC Ministry of Education China".

FUTURE PLAN ON BUILDING UNY VILLAGE IN BLORA REGENCY

“UNY has a tagline: Education is an investment in civilization. This is in accordance with us from Blora who want to invest for the future through education. CHAOYANG UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY OFFERING SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UNY STUDENTS AND LECTURERS

In order to improve the quality of education and at the same time strengthen collaboration networks with various universities at home and abroad, it is important to explore and develop cooperation. One of the most recent cooperation explorations initiated by UNY was carried out through the "Cooperation Workshop between UNY and Chaoyang University Of Technology (Taiwan) in the Engineering Sector" via a zoom meeting on Wednesday (1/9).

BUILDING INDONESIA-CHINA VOCATIONAL EDUCATION COOPERATION

UNY facilitated the online China-Indonesia TVET (Technical and Vocational Education Training) Workshop recently. TVET is education and training that provides job knowledge and skills. TVET uses formal, non-formal and informal learning and is recognized as an important medium for social equity, inclusion and sustainable development.

"Technical and vocational education is a new role in the development of human resources, skills and ethics," said Wang Yongli, Secretary General of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE).

UNY STRENGTHENS COOPERATION WITH BANGKA BELITUNG PROVINCE

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta fully supports every opportunity to equalize quality education in Indonesia. One of the domestic partners who have established cooperation in the field of Education with UNY is Bangka Belitung Province. This collaboration began with the signing of the MoU in 2017. To encourage further the implementation of cooperation between UNY and Bangka Belitung Province, on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, a Workshop on Strengthening Cooperation was held online through the Zoom Meeting.

UNY welcomes new students in the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students Program (PKKMB). This activity takes place from August 24 to 27, 2021. Participants who take part in this activity are 10,643 new students. ENCOURAGING QUALITY EDUCATION TO REMOTE AREAS OF MADURA

Athi' Nur Auliati Rahmah, a Physics Education student, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNY, is an Alumni of the Teaching Campus Program Batch 1 of 2021. Athi' has completed her service at SDN Guluk-Guluk II, Guluk-Guluk District, Sumenep Regency, Madura, East Java. Her experience in teaching in Madura provides inspiration on how to promote quality education in remote areas. Not surprisingly, Athi' was invited as a speaker at the Kampus Merdeka Roadshow Episode 1 with Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya.

INNOVATION CENTER, BUSINESS INCUBATOR, AND IPR OF IRCS UNY COLLABORATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF SOCIAL AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
