Advancing a Sustainable Campus, UNY Organizes Coastal Conservation Action as Part of an International Conference

Bantul – Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) demonstrated its commitment to environmental sustainability by participating in a series of coastal conservation activities, including sea turtle hatchling (tukik) release, beach clean-up, and mangrove planting, held on 4 June 2026 at Pelangi Beach and Baros Beach, Bantul. The activities formed part of the University's international conference program and served as an opportunity to strengthen environmental awareness among members of the academic community.

UNY PLK Students Turn Onion Skin Waste into Liquid Organic Fertilizer in Menden Village, Klaten, Supporting Sustainable Development

Students from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) participating in the Off-Campus Learning Program (PLK) have demonstrated innovative thinking through a simple yet impactful initiative in Menden Village, Kebonarum, Klaten. The team successfully transformed shallot skin waste into liquid organic fertilizer (POC), offering an environmentally friendly and practical solution for local communities.

Bintang Mandiri Scholars Lead Mangrove Conservation Project in Baros, Bantul

A group of fifth-batch Bintang Mandiri Scholarship recipients from Bank Mandiri recently carried out a social project titled Green Coast Baros in the Baros Mangrove Forest area, located in Tirtohargo, Kretek, Bantul, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The initiative was led by Melisa Sekarlina Putri Dayani, a student of Biology Education at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.
