Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta once again struck its achievements in the national championship in Scientific Paper Competition by becoming the first winner of the Innovation Contest (ICON) contest at the Faculty of Economics UNY (04-06 / 05). While the second winner was won by the team from Diponegoro University and the third winner by the team of Universitas Gadjah Mada. ICON itself is one of the prestigious national event for Indonesian students which is held annually by UKMF Research CRYRAL FE UNY.

Wisanggeni Warrior Team from Engineering Development Division of UKM Engineering Technology Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta re-incised achievement in the national event by winning the 2nd International Roof Truss Design (IRTDC) at UGM (1-5 / 05/2017). In addition to the trophy the team is also entitled to a coaching fund of 500 USD.
This team consists of Hendra Dewata, Mahsya Polivcha Putri, and Wahyu Bagas Pamungkas from the Department of Civil Engineering and Planning, Faculty of Engineering UNY under the guidance of Darmono, M.T.

Garuda Car Team UNY successfully achieved 'Grand Prix Hybrid Car Category' achievement in International Student Car Competition (ISCC) 2018 competition as the highest achievement in the event. The competition takes place on 18-19 May 2018 organized by Korean Automobile Testing and Research Institute (KATRI) at KATRI Songsan-Myun Paving Ground, Hwasong-si, Gyeonggi-Do, South Korea. In the competition, Garuda UNY with Garuda Hybrid 2018 (GH-18) managed to occupy 1st Acceleration, 1st Maneuver / Gymkhana Overall, and 1st Endurance.

The 10th Global Culture Festival (GCF) that was held at the Monument of Serangan Umum 1 Maret was lively (10/5/2018). The GCF organized by Yogyakarta State University (UNY) is an event to introduce Indonesian tourism, art, and culture to the international community, as well as introducing the culture from various countries in the world to the people of Indonesia, especially Yogyakarta.

Bimasena Team from Engineering Technological Engineering SME Division (DRB) UNY won the Most Favorite Design Award in Bridge Design Competition at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (10 - 11 March 2018). In this competition Team Bimasena chaired Sahril Afandi class of 2014 and members Ermalia Nur Hidayah class of 2015 from the Department of Civil Engineering and Planning.

Today, the quality of a workforce can be seen one of them through his title. But this is not enough in the midst of the development of this increasingly fused world. A workforce, such as an accountant, must also have a network that keeps him connected to the development of his own field of knowledge. The network is generally an association or a bond. By joining in a bundle of professional professions, an accountant becomes more professional than relying solely on his degree.

Yuli Arti from the Department of Education FMIPA had attended PPL Overseas program at Lampang Rajabhat University Thailand. There Yuli was assigned to teach at Aruban Lampang Khelangrat Anusorn School (SD equivalent). In schools where most of the students are from Thailand, Japan, and other countries, Yuli Teaches Science and English class IV.

ASENet is an activity in the field of entrepreneurship which aims to increase collaboration and network expansion for young entrepreneurs so that they can synergize together to build the economy in ASEAN. ASENet 2018 is the second time that the University of Syiah Kuala hosted. ASENet has also been successfully implemented by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2016. ASENET 2018 activities were attended by 85 participants from various universities at home and abroad. This kind of activity is very important as a place for young entrepreneurs to communicate and share their thoughts.
