The 2021 UNY Young  Dalang X Festival which has been taking place from Tuesday, June 8 to Saturday, June 12 at the Ki Nartosabdo Building, Faculty of Language and Arts (FBS) UNY has succeeded in presenting child puppeteers who are quite skilled in playing a series of puppets and amaze thousands of audiences who watched online through the YouTube Humas 2020 FBS UNY channel. Although most of  the participants could be said to be extraordinary, the Jury had to choose 6 puppeteers as winners out of a total of 32 participants.

To boost inclusive and sustainable economic growth, the Government of Madiun City agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY). The signing ceremony was held in the main courtroom of the rectorate, on Friday (11/6). The Mayor of Madiun and his staff were met directly by the Rector of UNY. Drowsiness is the second highest accident factor after carelessness. This is what inspired UNY students to design a driving safety pillow as an effort to minimize accidents caused by drowsiness. UNY celebrate the 57th anniversary by having community service and charity event at Bugel Hamlet, Kulon Progo District, Yogyakarta on Sunday (6/6). “This activity is part of collaboration implementation between LPPM UNY with the government of Kulon Progo District. We wish to develop more research and innovation for Bugel in particular and Kulon Progo community in general,” said Prof. Samuel Hadi as the chairman of LPPM UNY.

Based on data, the number of fire cases in Jakarta reached 2,183 cases in 2020 or an average of 4 fires a day. One of the causes of the fire was LPG gas leaking. This problem has taken Indobot's interest as a local Indonesian company to create an LPG Leak Detection System to minimize the impact of a larger fire.

The attempt to manage and reduce waste as part of responsible production are one of the main points on the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development. Athi 'Nur Auliati Rahmah (Physics Education Study Program Student), Bian Itsna Ashfa Al Ashfiya (Physics Study Program Student) and Muhammad Rizki (Physics Study Program Student) has successfully presented their innovative concept on tofu factory waste purification and earn 2nd  place at UNY Scientific Fair (UNYSEF) 2021. This event organized by the Student Research Activity Unit (UKM-P) UNY.
